A year ago I was invited to be part of a unique interactive storybook app for kids with a highly talented team of creatives. TheScholar and Saint is the group that created this imaginative product, but it was the team that they brought together that really made this project an honor to be part of. It's a long and crazy story that would require a small book to fully share, but here is the basic plot. Uber talented Cartoonist (Chris Mostyn) puts art containing incredibly fun creatures up in a coffee shop, visionary marketing guys (Scholar & Saint) see potential for something bigger, get super imaginative writer (Kyle Scheele) to write a 10 episode series, mix that all together and Plug and the Paddywacks is born. Now they need an artist to take storyboards created by CMostyn and create digital art interpretations. Enter Luke Flowers Creative. I Fly to Missouri to meet the team and brainstorm the battle plan. Leave inspired with the challenge of creating 20 illustrations/animations for each of the 10 episodes. The episodes are created each month and sold in the apple app store. The user downloads the free app, then fall in love with the characters, content and interactivity. Then download each episode or purchase a full season plan. That's the story so far and the vision for the project. Check it out for yourself at heyplug.com!

Of course that only briefly describes the journey, the real fun of this project is the characters that populate the world of the Paddywacks! I coudl try to describe it, but a picture is worth 1,000 words. So I have put together a few favorite images that capture the richly wonderful world of Plug! Be sure to check out more in my portfolio under PLUG. I will update the art with more epic imagery from episode 9 and 10 when they are launched.

The entire experience of working on season 1 of Plug has been one of the most challenging and educational process's I have ever had the opportunity to be part of. From developing the brand, to helping hone the style and characters, however the real monumental task was illustrating over 200 illustrations for the app (which included animated elements). Everyone on the team played a key role in making this app one that I am proud to be part of and highly recommend to everyone!

Please visit heyplug.com and find out more about the app and world of the Paddywacks. I also appreciate you supporting the project by way of downloading and purchasing the entire season (episode 1 is free, and episode 1-8 are available now, with episode 9 and 10 coming in April and May)! I would hope that you are as inspired by the experience as I was in helping create it!
