Above are various creations from my 3 kiddos that we hang up to inspire all that visit the creative cave. They never cease to amaze and inspire me with the way they let their creativity run wild and free as only children can. Future employees of LF CREATIVE? A dad can dream ...

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?

That is truly the question every creative faces on a daily basis. I find it comes from the 4 basic W's ...

WHO?
1. Divine. 2. Family. 3. Fellow creatives. Pretty much in that order. Each play a key role in every project. Divine Inspiration is where it all started, and where it always begins. My wife and 3 kids play a daily role in the inspriation of a project, whether by bouncing ideas around, feedback throughout a project or just a word of encouragement to spark the ideas to life! I have a hand full of favorite illustrators and fellow creatives, some of them long time favs (Dr. Seuss, Shel Siverstein, Gary Larson, Jim Davis and Joe Sorren) and many new ones that I find on a daily basis. Recent year favorites include Josh Cochran, Grady McFerrin and Christopher Silas Neal. They have all influenced/inspired me in various ways as I developed my own unique style.

WHAT?
From magazines to movies and everything in between. I try to keep my eyes open for any occasion to find inspiraiton. Art is everywhere, the good, the bad and the ugly. It can all inspire in some random way.

WHEN?
Before starting any project I always do my research. Search my favorite sites, read my favorite publications and even talk shop with a fellow creative friend. A favorite quote of mine is "The Possible's slow fuse is lit by the imagination." by Emily Dickenson. I see "The Possible" as the blank canvas and the fuse is the point of inspiration, it just takes getting the imagination wheels spinning to set the spark into a full force blaze of creativity!
